NAS. Network Attched Storage for Video and Data Backup. Great for Recording IP cameras.
What is a NAS?
A NAS is a hard disk storage device that is set up with its own network address rather than being attached to your computer. By removing storage access and its management from your PC, applications, data and files can be served faster because they are not competing for the same processor resources. The network-attached storage device is attached to a local area network i.e. your Ethernet network) and assigned an IP address. Now any device on your network can send or retrieve data to the NAS. This is ideal for storing Video, Music or even Films.
Watch the video below for a simple technical explanation of a typical NAS and how to set it up with an IP camera, in this case a Y-cam Knight.
We can supply Synology, Qnap and Thecus NAS enclosures and solutions so if the model you require is not shown please contact us for price and availablity
